Scope of work: Conceptual design, construction design

This crystal arch was constructed as a point of reference and singularity on a rather monotonous stretch of the A-2 motorway, exactly where the Greenwich meridian passes.

The arch has an integral structure of reinforced concrete which is covered with screen-printed glass. It is strongly illuminated and can be readily seen overnight.

The arch is built-in between two warped springers made out of reinforced concrete. They ensure the transition between the arch and its foundation.
