Bilbao Fine Arts Museum extension opens

Agravitas, the extension of the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum designed by architects Norman Foster and Luis María Uriarte, has been inaugurated. MC2 Estudio de Ingeniería designed its structure and provided technical assistance throughout the almost four years of construction.

A museum with more than a century of history in the city of Bilbao has now been extended as a bridge over its historic buildings. Resting on its iconic V-shaped columns and with a 55 m span, it creates remarkable spaces such as the Arriaga Square atrium and the BBK exhibition hall.

Thanks to Foster + Partners, LM Uriarte Arkitektura, the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum, the construction management team, the contractor joint venture and the whole MC2 team for getting us here.
