MC2 team site visit to the Picanya and Paiporta footbridges and Valencia CF’s new Nou Mestalla stadium

Field trip day!

The whole MC2 team, together with some colleagues from TYPSA’s structures departments, has visited the emergency works to rebuild the footbridges swept away by the DANA floods in Picanya and Paiporta. The new design, heir to the tradition of composite bridges with haunched decks, features robust faceted piers and a particularly hydrodynamic deck to withstand a water level rising 3 m above the footbridge deck level.

After lunch, the group visited the impressive construction works of the Nou Mestalla stadium, where, in close collaboration with FIA and SBP, the new home of Valencia CF has been designed. The roof structures, stairs and façades are the most visible elements of this great stadium, but the design effort extends down to the smallest details.

Site visits are a great opportunity for the whole team to see the built reality, witnessing first-hand the result of many hours of work, while strengthening ties with colleagues from other offices. Together, we keep building Valencia!
