Description

The most outstanding aspect of the Alamedilla Park Sports Complex in Salamanca is its steel truss roof which is solely supported on tour columns and from  which the main stand is suspended.

In addition to covering the entire complex, this roof serves as a floor to an upper leisure area, creating an elevated plaza above the building.

The roof has been designed as a framework of Warren type trusses  the upper cord supporting the upper slab and combining with the  same to form a composite structure. The upper slab is prestressed to  the support the large frontal overhangs of the building.

The lower areas of the building have been established as a conventional reinforced concrete structure.
