Description

The main gallery of the exhibition centre of Valencia is 20 m wide and its roof is a single-layer lamella system, exclusively built up out of IPE160 sections. After end-coping the incoming sections, they are welded together at their flanges and at the lower edge of the web. In this way, large parts of the roof are assembled in the workshop and transported to the site where they are easily joined together.

Through its longitudinal edge beams, the roof bears on a series of portal frames which are set in transversal planes every 12 m.

The type of sections used for this structure enables a very simple installation of the roofing elements. These can either be made of glass or blind panel, depending on the area.
