Description

The former rock concert arena “Rockodromo” in the Casa de Campo park of Madrid (Spain) has been converted into a multi-purpose arena. The eye-catching feature of the main pavilion is its self-supporting oval roof which is composed of a compressed outer concrete ring and a tensioned inner hexagonal steel ring; both connected by means of 6 superior steel box struts and 24 prestressed ties.

The overall structure of the main pavilion building is basically made out of prefabricated concrete and completed with an auxiliary pavilion with similar features.
