Description

The footbridge over the river Pisuerga is a key element of the global embankment remodeling project.

The main structure of the footbridge consists in a spatial tubular steel truss with hexagonal cross-section which is set into another truss of longitudinal and transversal cables. Both trusses are interconnected by means of tubular struts which keep the cables into their design position, hence increasing their eccentricity. Once assembled on the riverbank, the bridge was brought into its final position by rotation and tilt movements.

The approaches are made out of concrete so to accentuate the lightness of the steel trusses.
