Description

DRAGADOS won at the end of 2017 the competition for the construction of a set of logistics buildings for the storage and treatment of salts, in the duty-free zone of the port of Barcelona.

Within the works of optimization, it has been developed a detailed analysis of the incidence of the wind in the sizing of the buildings and in particular of their roofs, by means of the simulation of the action of the wind with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) techniques.

These simulations include a detailed modeling of the environment, differentiating surfaces according to their aerodynamic roughness and topography. The action of the wind takes into account the directionality registered in the port of Barcelona.

Roof has been modeled with detail of all its elements in order to reflect the interference effect of some parts of the building on others. The analyzes, of the RANS type, have been verified by controlling the evolution of the velocity profile of wind and turbulence intensity profile.
