Description

The Fernando Reigbridge over the River Barxell in Alcoy is a concrete cable-stayed bridge. The bridge has just one large pylon set almost centrally and two main spans of 108 and 132 m.

The deck was designed in prefabricated concrete with two large lateral beams, and is held by cables and supported on secondary beams forming the platform.

The bridge was erected by gradual self-balanced cantilevering.

All the structural arrangements and precepts considered in this bridge were subsequently  employed at a larger scale in the Centenary Bridge.
