GRAN VÍA DE LAS CORTES CATALANAS NOISE BARRIERS IN BARCELONA

As part of the remodelling works to the area and so to isolate visually and acoustically the Barcelonian thoroughfare of the Gran Via de las Cortes Catalanas between Plaza de las Glorias and calle Extremadura, noise barriers have been designed for both sides of the road.

These barriers are made up of a steel frame, on both sides covered with a layer of glass fiber reinforced concrete (GRC) and layers of highly sound-absorbing rock wool.

In view of the large number of modules required, the project has been optimized in terms of cost, labor, transport and installation without ever compromising the acoustic, aesthetic, and constructive requirements, nor the durability and strength specifications.
