Project details

Technical Data

  • Total length: 1547 m
  • Main spans: 230 m
  • Width: 14 m

Description

MC2 developed two composite type solutions for this tender:

“Deltas” Solution: Formed by a main central section which crosses the estuary channel, with a frame type structure consisting of a system of sloping arms combined with backstays to form two large delta cells, connected together by a large central truss girder with  double composite action: upper deck slab; and slab to the lower cord in reinforced concrete in areas of negative moment close to the springs of the said span in the cells.

“Ábacos” Solution: Composed of two large main spans and two   approach spans supported on “V” piers with the upper ends extended and  connected together by a bracing beam in order to create a   rail bed with support points spaced at 115 m in the area of the estuary and 90 m at the approaches, and allowing the constant depth box girder to be launched in its entirety.
