Description

This cultural centre is composed of three buildings which are quite different in terms of volume, architectural configuration and function. Two of them are  theatre halls while the third one serves as a choreographic centre for dance companies.

The main structure of the theatres is made out of reinforced concrete and is mainly composed of shear walls and slabs; many of them are strongly cantilevered so that some of them had to be prestressed. Large span, self-supporting composite structures have been designed for the roofs of the halls in order to allow their construction at great heights without having to use propping systems during the erection process.
