Description

The 288 m high Collserola Tower or Barcelona is the tallest tower in Spain.

This telecommunications tower is composed of a 205 m high reinforcedconcrete shaft which is extended with a steel mast. The tower supports 13 floors with steel structure and composite slabs which house telecommunication equipment and a public belvedere on the highest floor. It is guyed with aramid guys so to avoid radio interference.

The design introduced a construction process that allowed building the floors at ground level and subsequently hoist them into their final position.
